Activating FCG from outisde

hello,
first congrats on this great script, and thank you for all the help ive already got from this forum.

i'd like to know if it would be possible to activate the slide-show from outside the script :
as i'd like to have a vertical carousel on the side of the gallery, i tried modifying the script itself with no success, i'm no programmer :/
so i wondered if it would be possible to just create a div for example on the left of FCG with links that would call a FCG function and make it slide to the corresponding articleimg ?

lol, ok i take this as a "man i'm so tired of these questions about vertical carousels, can't these idiots do a research ?"

ive read its coming in the next update, fine.

maybe someone knows about a featured content script that works with WP3 that has a vertical carousel ? would be nice, thanks, just PM me.
