Conflict with other mootools script

PostBy simbot on Wed Apr 13, 2011 12:51 pm

I have the FCG installed in my wordpress theme and got it working nicely on my homepage. The I installed a new script(a lightbox knockoff) that uses mootools as well and to my dismay they do not appear to play nice together. With The FCG activated, the FCG works and the lightbox fails, and if I deactivate FCG then the lightbox works and the FCG does not (obviously).

My attempt to get these to work together included isolating the different versions of mootools (neither version of the mootools script worked for both elements), downloading a complete version of mootools and replacing the min versions (FCG didnt like this), and swapping the order of the scripts in the code (didnt appear to make a difference).

Can anyone help me figure why I cannot get FCG to play nice with another mootools based function on the same page? Is there something special about the version of the mootools.js included with the FCG plugin that cannot be replaced by a more compatible library? THERE MUST BE A SOLUTION.

Cheers
