I'm having the same issue with the arrows. I'm trying to have always open carousel, no summary, no arrows.

PERFECT!
I hope my friend never has to update this.
That is a point. I am a software developer, have been for about 30 years, and I am doing this little job for a lady I know more as a favour. The hacks I have made to Javascript and PHP will all be lost if someone or something hits an UPDATE function. Any clever way to guard against that from a version control point of view? I am a newbie with WordPress. What do you others do that have custom HERO screen sliders? I usually have writen my own in jQuery in the past, but didn't have time to shoehorn it into WordPress. Very smart plugin indeed. Can I suggest that some of the 'hacks' I and others have done be made administrative options? Turning the carosel on and off, getting rid of arrows, text size and fonts etc? A way to parse inline CSS would be pretty in the Featured Text box. I can probably help a little, having such a big mouth and wish list!
Thanks again for a great tool. Only took a day or so to get it to do nearly everything I want.

Re: delete the thumbnail part
I made these changes to remove the carousel but nothing is taking effect. I wonder if I am making changes to the wrong file?
Is this the correct directory?
~/wp-content/plugins/featured-content-gallery/scripts
I thought the JS file might be cached, so I deactivated the plugin did a full refresh and activated the plugin again. I still see the carousel.
Any suggestions?
