Do all posts in a catagory need a FCG for FCG to work?

PostBy Hokeamaniac on Thu Jun 02, 2011 7:48 am

Hi,

I love FCG. I"ve been using it for a while. Still not sure about some setting things, but been working great.

My first issue was my Customer Fields disappeared, but came here, searched for Custom Fields and found my issues (WP update hid my fields on my post pages and i needed to go to Page Options to get them to display or something).

Now my current issue.

I point the FCG to display images from posts in my News feed. I just posted a new news item, but going forward I don't want them in my FCG gallery...so my question is...

DOes every post have to have a defined FCG custom field for the FCG to actually work? Meaning, if I say I want the News posts to populate the FCG display, then each post NEEDS to have a defined image?

So then do I need to go to an individual approach to displaying images in my FCG instead of a generic group like News, or Featured?

Did I make sense? Thanks for any help in advance!!

yes, if you specify category selection, N posts (where N is number of posts from that category shown in fcg, which is set in fcg options settings) need to have articleimg custom field specified.
instead of category you can use post/pageid settings to show only posts you want to show in fcg

1. Check settings to exclude fcg-YOU conflict
2. Try to turn off all your plugins at once to exclude fcg-other plugin conflict
3. Try default theme to exclude fcg-theme conflict
