Re: Download, Install, Upgrade & Setup Instructions
Hi,
I have purchased the lifestyle theme and was instructed to install the fcg plugin. I cannot get the plugin to show up. I use bluehost. Site name handpiecereview.com. I have the FCG plugin in my content/plugins folder on blue host, but do not get it to show up in my plugins section to activate it. No problem loading and selecting the theme. Just cannot get the plugin to show up..
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. New to word press.

Hi,
This is what is showing up where I would like for the FCG to show:
Warning: include(/home/evolvedy/public_html/evolvedynamic.net//wp-content/plugins/content-gallery/gallery.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/evolvedy/public_html/evolvedynamic.net/wp-content/themes/lifestyle_20/home.php on line 14

I have deactivated the plugin for now until I can get this to work. Thank you!

Re: Download, Install, Upgrade & Setup Instructions
You need to replace the code in the template with the new code. Find this (should be in home.php or index.php):
and replace with this:
- Code: Select all
<?php include (ABSPATH . '/wp-content/plugins/content-gallery/gallery.php'); ?>
and replace with this:
- Code: Select all
<?php include (ABSPATH . '/wp-content/plugins/featured-content-gallery/gallery.php'); ?>

It doesn't look as though you've setup the gallery at all. Please review the setup and installation instructions carefully, and check out the video too. That should walk you through the complete setup, creating custom fields, etc. [url-http://www.featuredcontentgallery.com/install-setup]Install & Setup Information for FCG[/url]

Re: Download, Install, Upgrade & Setup Instructions
Wow, I can not wait to get this plugin working.
Here is the problem I am having. I have installed the plugin.
Now, I am not sure where to place the code?
I am using the UBD Moneymaker Theme theme and have the Static front page plugin activated to that my homepage is static.
When I go into edit theme options, it does not give me the option of a homepage?
any help would be great.
Thanks,
Marc

Re: Download, Install, Upgrade & Setup Instructions
Typically it's the home.php or index.php file that needs to have the code, but it depends on the theme. You'll have to check your editor and find the page template you're using for your home page and add the code there. Make sure though that this template isn't used in other places throughout your site, as then the gallery will repeat with each use of the template. You might need to create a custom template and use it for your home page.

Re: Download, Install, Upgrade & Setup Instructions
Hi Kris,
Thanks,
This is where I am thoroughly confused. I have tried adding the code to the index.php in the wordpress editor to no avail.
Do you think that the fact I am using the static home page wordpress plugin, it means I will not be able to use the featured content plugin?
Thanks again,
Marc
