Ok, so this is what I have done so far and still just seeing a blank space.
1 - I have installed and activated the plugin
2 - I have put the gallery width, height and text in pixels
3 - I have entered the category name and the number to display
4 - I have added 'articleimg' as a custom field for the 2 relevant posts in the same category, and put the full image url next to it
5 - I put the code <?php include (ABSPATH . '/wp-content/plugins/featured-content-gallery/gallery.php'); ?> in a variety of different places in index.php (for the specific theme).
Notes: I am using the USB moneymaker theme, and I have the static front page plugin installed and activated.
Any ideas what I have done wrong here, or will the plugin just not work with this theme and static front page plugin?
Thanks,
Marc

- Thank you for using the Featured Content Gallery Forum
Re: Download, Install, Upgrade & Setup Instructions
I just upgraded to the new Featured Gallery and it no longer works. I've inserted the PostID #s, switched the name of the Category to not include space, changed the categorie slug, all to no avail. The site is http://socialnetworkingqueen.com/. Thanks for any assistance.

Did some more tests. Installed FCG on clean system and it works great! But on the system that I performed an upgrade on, it doesn't work at all. Are there database variables being stored that are not updated? I've deactivated the plugin, deleted the files, reinstalled the plugin, and reactivated the plugin. When I go to Settings option, the original settings are still there.

Is it necessary to upgrade?
I bought a readybuilt blog with Lifestyle and updated the plugin (which was already there and everything fine) and of course it stopped working.
Now I see it is because I need to change that small piece of code. I can do that.
But is there anything else that could go wrong? Because I did not buld the blog, I don't think I could mend it .

And actually I see it does not work now. That is because I added a new post!!!! So I think the blog is useless if I cannot add new posts.
And I have no support, because I did not buy the Lifestyle theme, I bought the site.

Re: Download, Install, Upgrade & Setup Instructions
Thought I should update.
I've discovered that the new post was in the default category, so with the previous version of FCG I guess that explains how it works, it pulls everything in the default category...
So I added "title", "articleimg" and "thumbnail". For the images I cheated and re-used images from other posts....
And it works. Phew.
But I would still like to now what will happen if I upgrade. I can do the code ok, but presumably it will muck up the default setting, ie using the main category?
