FCG and "articleimg2" ?

Hello - I am back for a question.

I am using another plugin which automatically creates a custom field that holds the URL of an image associated with it - it's a product image for a store's drip feed.

Currently, on new posts that have images and suitable for the FC gallery, I am adding the appropriate URL of an image under the custom field "articleimg" (no surprise) and I've selected a special category for the options, so if both exist in a post - the image and selection goes into the FCG on the front page. Over time I un-tick the category and the selection does not show up in the gallery.

Well .. In addition to new posts, periodic "drip feed" posts are being made over time and I was wondering if it's possible to ALSO include these images in the FCG by adding a second custom field option in the gallery script(s) - say, if "articleimg2" custom field exists ..

Is this possible? I see in gallery.php file 3 instances of articleimg ... but other than that I am clueless. I would add that in the first instance I am manually adding the "articleimg" custom field .. in the second instance - "articleimg2" custom field already exists and is associated with the post already and I don't have to manually add anything.
