FCG compatable for WP 2.8+ ??

So im looking here

and im looking at the compatability to wordpress versions
As of the most recent update its only compatable up to wordpress 2.7.1

I am currently running wordpress 2.8.6 and planning on upgrading to 2.9
id REALLY like to use something like this on the homepage for the theme that i just putchased.

Any ideas?
Anyone have some input on the compatability?
Is this plugin still under further development?
