I'm attempting to use FCG on my Wordpress website, but I've noticed a conflict occurring between FCG and the small jQuery code that underlies the drop-down menus in the website header.
Basically, FCG worked just fine when I started using the template 'bluewood'. After considerable development, I realized that the child pages weren't displaying as drop-down menus from the main menu (where the 'parent' pages are shown).
When I looked into the jQuery code that operates the drop-down menus, I noticed that it was distinctly lacking a "jQuery.noConflict()" line. After adding that single line to the jQuery script for the drop-down menus, the drop-down menus instantly starting working... but FCG stopped working altogether.
The moment I go back and remove the "jQuery.noConflict()" line, the menus stop working and FCG begins working perfectly again.
Any ideas as to why this might be? Or maybe how it can be remedied?
Another interesting aspect to this problem is that the conflict occurs even when FCG is not shown on a given page. For example, FCG is only shown on my home page... where it seems to prevent the drop-down menus (in the header) from working. But even when I navigate elsewhere in the site where FCG is not used at all, the drop-down menus still cease to work.
In contrast, when I add the "jQuery.noConflict()" line to the drop-down menu code, the menus work flawlessly site-wide, even though the FCG fails to show on the homepage.
Why is "jQuery.noConflict()" allowing my menus to work, but causing FCG to fail?
