FCG Not Working - Shows up as a black box

I'm having an issue with the featured content gallery. I'm using this theme: Spartan 0.1.1 by Justin Tadlock. It shows up as a black box. Nothing has been changed in the php and a new plug-in or widget has not been installed to my knowledge. I tried looking in the theme files for the gallery.php file but it isn't there. Would it probably be in the index, home, or header php file?

Do you know what might be wrong? Is it because the theme is old or something isn't compatible? Thanks for your input and help!

how can I know what is on someone else site..it looks like fcg..but it is modified fcg..someone who created that theme...modified fcg...If you want to get help, ask the theme creator or use our version
