Featured Content Gallery Conflict

For some reason my Featured Content Gallery will not work when I activate my Event Calendar Plugin that I recently downloaded.

This is the event plugin I am using (apparently it uses some kind of jQuery Protection, which I think may be the problem):

Does anyone have any idea why I cant have both plugins active at the same time? When I activate the event plugin, the featured content gallery wont work.

If Jquery is indeed the problem, is there a workaround?
