it looks like you renames Uncategorised category to be Featured..sometimes this does not work for fcg..try to create new category called Featured and put your desired posts there to be in fcg

Yes that is true, I did rename the Categorized category. I recreated as you said renaming that category to Featured1, creating a new Featured and setting all posts to that. It all seems to be working fine now for the display of images in the gallery.

Problem is now having changed this none of the posts show up in the Featured section below the gallery on the home page because I assume this is being directed to what was categorized and not the new Category "Featured". I don't see the ability to change this page focus in WP-MU in settings/ reading where this would be set. Not sure if this is hard coded or if this is changeable. Do you know how to do this?

"Please ignore the last post."

I had it set in the Theme settings, but the change from the category update did not override. I had to reset it there and its working fine now.

Thanks for all your help on this.

Thanks to Yelena and others for all the great tips in this thread. I just installed FCG today on Wordpress MU 2.8.5.2 and it's working perfectly. In order to make it so, however, I had to modify options.php just as Flash suggested.

A new issue has arisen, you will see that the featured text section has been turned in the screen shot above. I have since turned this off and removed any and all featured text custom fields from my blogs. Problem is the featured text component is not going away in my main view. See http://qustusfive.com home page (six rotating graphics).

Do you know why this may be?

Thanks.

I think an additional fyi is that now all of the featuredtext custom fields have been removed it is pulling the information from the main post, either that or i used the same data when i created my test and the data is still stored somewhere. Would you be able to tell me where the data for the gallery options as well as the custom fields are stored? Custom fields are for a post.

I have been looking through the DB but don't see tables created for this, how does FCG store its options? As WP doesn't seem to use active/ inactive and deletes from the DB not sure what is happening here. I did think in the short term i could possibly manually change the options in lieu of a fix.

in fcg options settings did you uncheck this checkbox
Code: Select all
Check here if you want to use custom text under the post/page title.
Key: featuredtext - Insert custom text in the value. HTML is allowed.

Yes this box is unchecked. Using multiple versions in WP-MU I note also in other areas where it is off I can't turn it on. Other options work like changing color schemes and such.

Its like the value is not being passed to wherever it is being stored when the options page is being updated. Or not being pulled correctly. Screen shot enclosed in the zip file, this is an mht screen save.

----------------- THE BELOW ISSUE IS FIXED. THERE WAS A PLUGIN CONFLICT NOT SURE WHICH
I am getting an additional issue now also that the main content is not loading. This is consistent across a couple of areas that i have the FCG running. Two examples below;

http://questusfive.com
http://questusfive.com/delivery/
http://questusfive.com/about/

All areas and links are set correctly i just removed the featuredtext custom field. I ran these as both via a category and selecting the IDs. It picks up the individual thumbnails but not the main images. There seems to be an issue of category selection where it wont let you change it plus the issue of the featuredtext not going away.
