how do i ause over several categories

Hi,

I love your plug-in and it works and wows people all the time. What i am wanting to do (i am a php coder) is that i have several pages on my magazine site with custom templates

ie fashion-food, videos, his picks, her picks and so on.

Each one of these templates have there own custom theme layout apart form the a header portion within the template. Each page references the post category it belongs to and shows the posts for this category.

What i am wanting to do is to be able some how add the featured content slider with say get on the end of it eg catName=fashionfood and if this is true then use this cat instead of the default one loaded into the admin tool.

Where in the code could i do this and if you let me know where i will share the code with you and let you use it. This would be a great and simple feature to add i am hopping
