How to find a post or page ID

Here's a quick way to find a post or page ID in WordPress:

Login to WP, and select edit (posts or pages)

Put your mouse over the title of the page or post you want to know the ID of, and look at the browser status bar at the bottom. The number at the end of the url is the post or page ID.

You can also click the title of the post or page and look at the url in the address bar. The last number in the url is the ID.

When entering in these IDs into the options page on the FCG plugin, enter them in with commas, but no spaces.

Having to insert a manual post/page id number really adds a needless extra step for us.

we plan on having the gallery change every day -- whatever we tag as "featured" will go in that gallery and the older stories will drop off.

can we go back to having it just refer to a category instead of a manual post number?

also...eagerly awaiting the ability to add multiple galleries (again, tagging a "featured" subcategory would be easier than manually inserting the post number) and eagerly awaiting a fix for the lightbox conflict, because we'd like to use both.

I know the IDs is an extra step, and I hear you when you say you want the full automation of simply entering in a category. I've got this on the dev list and I hope to have an update soon. I want to have the option of using IDs, categories, most recent posts, etc. Because the ability to use both pages and posts was the most immediate need to be addressed, that was the change.

Also working on the multiple gallery feature.

Could you please add an image ID choice in the FCG settings so that I can just select images in my WP media gallery rather than pages or posts. I just want to display images with FCG, randomize them and change them every few days. FCG seems perfect for this and would make it very simple to do. Thanks!
