Images not displaying correctly although correct pixel size

I recently installed FCG and am having issues with the images displaying corretly. I have used FCG in the past. The images I have displayed are a lot smaller than my FCG but they still show up a lot larger and displayed incorrectly.

I removed the lightbox plugin I had but it is still not displaying properlly. My images are under 500/300 pixels but are still distortedd. Is anyone having the same issues?

fcg does not distort any images, it presents them the way they are

look at this image, the size is 300px × 277px, so it is your original size
