Known FCG Plugin Conflicts
Re: Known FCG Plugin Conflicts
did you provide articleimg custom fields for your posts in gallery?

1. Check settings to exclude fcg-YOU conflict
2. Try to turn off all your plugins at once to exclude fcg-other plugin conflict
3. Try default theme to exclude fcg-theme conflict
4. Post in this forum to involve me in your troubleshooting. URL is required

Re: Known FCG Plugin Conflicts
Eklipse wrote:This is a possible workaround to the plugin conflict between FCG and WP-Ecommerce plugin. I say 'possible' because I tested and it worked for me. It will work in some cases. I am looking for a more generico solution.
Please be aware that this solution worked for me in specific circunstances.
I'm testing both plugins using Revolution Music Theme from Brian Gardner.
Revolution Music is using FCG in the front page (ONLY) and when you install WP e-commerce it suddenly stops, showing a white window. I found the problem is because WP e-commerce is using lightbox.
After a careful search I found that order of javascript loading affect the inner working of the library. I mean, for some reason if wordpress loads first jquery and after loads mootools, FCG does not work anymore.
In my case the opposite works alright.
I changed the load sequence of the scripts to solve the problem in the main page.
PAY ATTENTION 1: at the moment there is still conflict. If you try to use lightbox on the main page, it will conflict with FCG. But in Revolution Theme this situation is very rare.
PAY ATTENTION 2: This is a PROPOSED solution, it is NOT deeply tested. Maybe I'm screwing up other things. The solution is easy to implement , if it doesn't work you can revert it without problems.
Solution:
- In FCG plugin find content-gallery.php
- Change add_action('wp_head', 'gallery_styles');
for:
add_action('wp_head', 'gallery_styles',1);
(just simply add the 1 parameter to change priority)
It forces javascript mootools loads first before jquery.
-Save the file.
Good luck, I will continuing looking a better answer.
Have a nice day.
Eklipse
Thanks, so far this came the closest to working. I now no longer see a white box. I see the gallery box, the text, the arrows, but the image is missing and I only see the progress bar. Suggestions?

Feedlist (http://rawlinson.us/blog/articles/feedlist-plugin/)
Deactivated and FCG works perfectly.
I wasn't really using the plugin, so no big deal that there is a conflict. Just listed here for others that may not be able to get FCG working.
Great job with FCG!!!

Re: Known FCG Plugin Conflicts
Hi everone,
Should let you all know I've found a conflict with another plugin.
After spending a couple of hours fiddling about with deactivating widgets, eliminating lines of code in my header.php that was calling some unessessary javascript and generally shouting in frustration at my pc I finally ended up with FCG fully working and I love it. http://www.0870sucks.com
But I ended up with the following widget that caused it to stop working when it was reactivated.
It's called FAQ Builder, this is their website http://faqbuilder.squarecompass.com/ which is a shame as it's also a great widget.
If anyone has a work around, please let me know.
Cheers

Re: Known FCG Plugin Conflicts
Major conflict between FCG and Slideshow Gallery
(http://wpgallery.tribulant.net/).
The author of this plugin has written quite a long explanation as to why FCG keeps posing problems (read his arguments : http://blog.tribulant.com/tag/slideshow-gallery/)
----------
My very own problem is that I need both these plugins.
At the moment, they can run alongside as long as the two slideshows are not dislayed on the same page. If they are, they "kill" one another.
Real pity.
These plugins can be quite complementary (depending on your needs).
Is there a workaround ?

Re: Known FCG Plugin Conflicts
hi,
I have been using FCG on some site with StudioPress themes for years without any problems.
Now I have a strange problem...., it is maybe only a local browser problem?
On one site http://hardthaus.de/ the FCG is missing in one Mozilla Browser only just updated version 3.6. Other sites with FCG works fine in the same browser? See screenshot. Please give me response if any of you is having the same problem.... thanks

now I have no conflict with the Event Calender Plugin Version 3.1.4 from Alex TingleI. Sorry to post this here, but it could help out a few people with simular problems; I think!
