Known FCG Plugin Conflicts

PostBy Kris Themstrup on Tue Jan 20, 2009 3:29 pm

Right now, I'm aware that the FCG plugin does not work with the following plugins:

Lightbox/Slimbox/Thickbox (I do not know if Shadowbox causes a conflict or not)
    WP E-commerce
    Events Calender
    SocioFluid

If you are aware of any more conflicts, please post them here. This information was taken from the original FCG plugin forum.

Currently, we are working on a resolution for the Lightbox and similar plugins, and will keep everyone posted on any updates through the forum and website.

Shadowbox appears to work fine -- testing it on http://beta.blastmagazine.com

http://beta.blastmagazine.com/the-page- ... to-wedges/ has a shadowbox image

I was hoping it did - thanks for the info!

Looks like right now that's the only lightbox-similar image plugin that doesn't cause a conflict. Reason is it uses mootools, same as FCG.

I have discovered that there is a conflict with a plugin called Events-Calendar. The plugin home page is here: http://heirem.fr/

If I deactivate the Events-Calendar plugin the FCG works fine.

To see the problem in action, you can go here: http://slukes.org/wordpress/

Thanks for your good work.

At one time there was a conflict with the RSS-Footer plugin, I aven't checked it with this new version yet, but it is worth mentioning just in case.

Formbuilder also has issues with FCG - http://truthmedia.com/wordpress/formbuilder

From what I can tell a lot of the problems relate to issue between some plugins using jquery and FCG using mootools. Maybe a lot of these issues could be solved if there were 2 versions of FCG, a mootools version and a jquery version. I wouldn't have thought it would be a massive job to do a jquery version with all the different libraries already out there.

Just an idea..

The new version works terrific, good work guys!
A plugin I've been dying to add, Post Tabs, still doesn't work even with the new version. It pulls the images out of their fixed area and spreads them down the screen... anything I can do to fix this? Thanks a lot guys, keep it up!

Thanks!

Not sure why Post Tabs is causing that error. Typically, we see problems when a plugin is using jquery, because FCG uses mootools. Looking at the plugin, it may be the css that is pulling the images out. You may want to try downloading the newest version of FCG because we corrected some css issues yesterday and posted a new download, but I'm not sure whether this will correct your problem. Good luck!
