you can specify number of words from posts in options, or use featuredtext custom field

1. Check settings to exclude fcg-YOU conflict
2. Try to turn off all your plugins at once to exclude fcg-other plugin conflict
3. Try default theme to exclude fcg-theme conflict
4. Post in this forum to involve me in your troubleshooting. URL is required

Need Help with FCG setup still please... (sad face)

I might be the only one who still has a problem with FCG working...
I have deactivated all other plugins except FCG
I've cleared my browser cache
I've tried different theme settings

and still, i just have a black box where my pitchers should be.

And I too am willing to pay someone to help me get this working again. The previous version was bee-you-tee-ful... I upgraded and it just went away...

I checked it out on IE7 and an error message in the lower left shows up; when I click it to investigate, I see

Now though, only one of the pictures shows up out of the two. So what is the other error?

I'm getting this same error. How did you go about fixing your absolute path?

Hello,

I have a trouble too. After I set everything, the javascript doesn't start to display the gallery. When I check using Firebug, the elements, which contain the posts' content and articleimg, actually have been loaded. But they're still hidden.

And the Firebug tells that the Javascript contains an error: "el.getElement is not a function". So I think the problem is in the Javascript framework, but I can't find a way to resolve it. Could you help me, please? Thanks in advance.

riff,

I have experience really really similar with your, including the javascript error message.
I found the problem painfully by debugging the jd.gallery.js.php line by line and it turn out due to swapped custom field between 'alttext' and 'featuredtext'. If your 'featuredtext' have hyperlink, it will break the loop inside the script.

I described in quite detail on:
Featured Content Gallery (FCG) Only Displays Blank Box

Check it out and hope this helps !
