The problem is posts that are not intended to be featured are still displayed by FCG, and because articleimg, and featuredtxt custom fields are left blank the FCG gallery shows loading bar as default.
How do I control what posts are displayed by the FCG?

use post/pageid selection instead of category in fcg options settings

2. Try to turn off all your plugins at once to exclude fcg-other plugin conflict
