Hi I am an undergrad in the Media Arts field. I have built my portfolio online at http://www.derricklemaster.com. I am not a programer by all means, but I do have some understanding with code and how it works. I would love to use FCG on my portfolio. I was able (via researching the forums here) to put FCG on only my home page as it is a static page. I was also able to get it up and running.

The bully on the playground that is picking on FCG with his buddies JQuery and Mootools is My Lightbox M Plugin. I have built all of my galleries for my art work using the Lightbox M plugin, this is what I deactivated to get it working. Ive put in a ton of work with Lightbox M, and I've tried other galleries but I prefer Lightbox M. I think it displays my work well, but I love FCG and think it would be the icing on the top of my portfolio cake. So I am stuck in the middle until this plan to make them all play nice with each other happens.

A couple of questions:

If I have the FCG plugin deactivated, will it still show if there is an upgrade available even though its deactivated? (Still kind of new to Wordpress)

If it doesn't show for an upgrade in WP when deactivated, I would like to know if there is any way that I could get an email sent to me or some kind of notification when this update happens?

Is there already a list of people requesting a notify on an update or if there is not could we start one up?

All in all if the answer to all of my questions is no, then I will check back periodically for an update on the updates.

I know this is an old thread, but I've been using your plugin on my site for a while now and was about to start doing a bit of an overhaul when I had the idea to use this plugin only on the category pages to display the featured images/posts only within whichever category you are viewing (i.e. - showing the posts that are both in the Featured category as well as the User category). I think this could be a powerful feature if implemented properly as it would allow the plugin to become a bigger part of the interface of the site. If you're not interested in developing this feature, could you point me in the right direction as to how I could modify the code myself?
