Prioritize Post in FCG

I have a website that relies off scheduling to post fresh content daily. I would prefer a certain post shows up first in featured content gallery (references link), then the posts as modified by dates.

Example:

1st Post = 1/03/11, Specific Post
2nd Post = 1/11/11, Most Current Post
3rd Post = 1/10/11, Older Post
4th Post = 1/09/11, Even Older Post....

The reason I am making this request, is because I would prefer not to have to login to the "Specific Post" everyday to update the timestamp just to have it show up first in the featured content gallery after the scheduled posts have updated. I researched this option and found nothing. Would it be possible to include an improvement where you could check box a post to have it show up first in the featured content gallery above the scheduled posts? I look forward to your reply.
