Reducing the size of this plugin?

I have been using this plugin for 1.5 years and it is one of the best content gallery plugins.

Yet this plugin really needs an update. The total footprint is around 150kb, while there are similar plugins, but not as good, that have <20k footprints.

With a 1Mbit connection, an additional 130kb footprint can cause 1 second extra loading time. Google considers sites loading <2 seconds fast, 3-4 seconds average and >4 seconds slow.

A big 150k footprint can have a negative impact.

Is it possible to reduce the size of this plugin? Specially the JS?
