Remove blank area behind 'Featured Content'

Hello all,

Just two things that have me baffled here.

1. I've set all of the following at 'False' already: Arrows, Carousel, InfoPane, embedLinks. However, there's a blank area that's been left behind that I would like to have removed. 'Featured Content' text in the screen grab is there just for illustrative purposes.

2. The rotating images have been shifted down, presumably related to my first point. I'm assuming once the blank area is removed, the images will fit the Gallery properly. The images and settings are both set to 900x400 px

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
