Text overlay displays incorrectly

I'm having a frustrating issue with this plugin in IE. The overlay text displays about halfway up the image:

I've tried all sorts of different plugin settings with no luck. Ideally I'd like to get rid of the overlay altogether, but setting the number of words to 0 has no effect. Any suggestions are appreciated.
