Theme-related issue

We've got the same problem lots of other folks have reported: black box, "Loading" forever, no pics.

For us, it appears to be theme-related: When we use the HemingwayEx theme (http://www.nalinmakar.com/hemingwayex/), FCG doesn't work. When we use other themes (WP Default, original Hemingway [http://warpspire.com/hemingway/], and QuenchMag [http://topwpthemes.com/quenchmag/]), FCG works as expected.

The only difference I've noticed between the themes that work and the one that doesn't is that HemingwayEx throws an error when I check the error console:

The other themes don't. I do see the thumbnails of my images when I click on the "Loading..." message, but the gallery never starts.

Have tried the usual troubleshooting tips (disabling all other plugins, disabling widgets) to no avail.

Our website is still in development, so I can't post a link yet. In the meantime, does anyone know where I should be looking to troubleshoot the theme issue?
