Guitarnoob

Sorry I should have read back my post properly - I've amended it now.
The file for the find/replace is jd.gallery.js.php in the scripts folder. Apologies.

PLEASE HELP! I tried this dirty fix and nothing happened, still blank white screen. I changed the jd.gallery.js.php as listed....nothing happened. I have articleimg and have it connected to "featured" in categories. I had no problems before this upgrade, can anyone tell me how to fix this? Thank you http://prodigalmagazine.com

1. Check settings to exclude fcg-YOU conflict
2. Try to turn off all your plugins at once to exclude fcg-other plugin conflict
3. Try default theme to exclude fcg-theme conflict

Thanks Yelena but nothing happened. Am I doing something wrong? I deleted the original version 3.2 that I installed a few days ago. Redownloaded from Wordpress and re-installed manually. Is there anything else I have to do? I still get a blank white box. Do I need to deactivate the plugin or anything before I manually reinstall it? Please advise, and thank you for your efforts. Jason

Try to disable your plugins and change theme and see if it works

Ok I was having this very issue today after I upgraded. After looking into the forums I tried editing the jd.gallery.js.php file only to find it blocked. After contacting my host here's what they said.

Hi Ivan,

After we disabled one of the accounts mentioned by Bilal in the previous post, still there was some load on the server and your following script was the most processor intensive process among all.

/home/darkdiam/public_html/wp-content/plugins/featured-content-gallery/scripts/jd.gallery.js.php

Here is more detail about this issue.

---------
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
darkdiam 14073 0.0 0.5 135728 19932 ? R 13:41 0:00 /usr/bin/php /home/darkdiam/public_html/wp-content/plugins/featured-content-gallery/scripts/jd.gallery.js.php
darkdiam 14078 0.0 0.5 135728 19932 ? R 13:41 0:00 /usr/bin/php /home/darkdiam/public_html/wp-content/plugins/featured-content-gallery/scripts/jd.gallery.js.php
---------

We had no choice but to disable this script. Please check if this is your normal traffic, if yes then you will suggest you to upgrade to a higher plan. If not, then you need to check into this issue why your script is creating so much load on the server.

Feel free to contact us if you need further assistance.

This, of course, was not the case before and its pretty unreal that such a simple script is using up so many resources. Have you guys looked into this?

Maybe this is the case with some of the other users here as nothing seems to fix it. Were there some modifications to the engine of the script that now causes it to use up a lot of resources with no need?

Hmm, all errors I've seen on user's sites are not proper option settings, wrong img urls, plugin, theme conflicts, all other user related problems.

Yelena - to be honest I am nervous to touch anything else...if I change themes and disable all plug-in I am concerned that a lot of things will stop working. It seems like this is happening to a lot of people, do you have a bug fix coming soon? Please advise, thanks!

To see what's wrong you have to try things. It called troubleshooting. There is no bugs in fcg, just some javascript frameworks do not work together. You just need to figure it out what's wrong and decide what you prefer to have gallery or theme, other plugins.

So you are saying that your last version would work with everything I have on my site but the new version may not for some reason? I have not changed anything...just upgraded fgc. I disabled all plug-ins and re-loaded fcg 3.2 and still empty box. When was 3.1 released? Has it been in the last year? I am just trying to figure out which version worked and try to go back to it? Will that work?
Thanks
Jason
