Using FCG on my news site

I run a popular local newspaper online, at http://www.larchmontgazette.com. I just installed FCG, and although I need to fine-tune it a bit, it's working nicely and has elicited some admiration from readers.

If you follow the link at some later time, the plugin may not be running, however. If we have several important articles that don't have images, we may decide to shut down the plugin that week.

An easy way to shut it down, without removing the code in the index.php file, would be useful.

I like your implementation, but on another point, I had no clue where Larchmont was. I looked around a bit, but nothing was giving me the answer until I finally noticed "NY" in the page title on the browser's title bar. Perhaps augmenting your banner to give the state, or a graphic of the state of NY blended into your pavilion image. I realize that your site is intended more for those local to you, but it's also your ambassador to the world. We wanna know where you are.
