I could not find the code you mentioned to delete it manually but the theme I was using (a customization of Hybrid News) has a "settings" area where one can check to enable or uncheck to disable certain scripts. I just disabled all of them and now I am seeing the FCG. I will try it on buildingfromnothing.com now. Thanks again

One interesting thing happened on my site:
- If I have checked to use category selection I only get a black box,
- If I have checked to use individual post or page IDs it works fine.
Will update If I can come up with anything.

That's interesting. On my blog buildingfromnothing.com, I actually was using post and page IDs and I still had the same problem. However, as soon as I disabled some scripts (on this blog as well as livingclean.com) the FCG is working again.

I think your theme is conflicting with fcg, check on default theme

I had a breakthrough. If anyone is using the collapsing archives plugin, it will cause the featured content gallery to not work.

There is definitely a conflict with WP 2.8 and FCG. I have read numerous posts about the same problem: the gallery doesn't show anything. Just the black border line. I checked into this and did a page load test with it activated and found jd.gallery.js.php to have trouble loading so i assume the problem is with that file.

FCG used to be a great addition to my site, and as soon as there is a fix posted for it I will put it back up on my site. If you want to see the conflicted files yourself, install WP 2.8 and run FCG and do a test here: http://www.webpagetest.org/

The FCG files will be the longest loading.

Seems that I am having the same problem-I wasn't sure whether to attribute the issue to WP 2.8 or a (new) windows server, rather than Linux.

I had it previously working fine with WP 2.7.1 at http://www.vibeseo.com/dancenetfitness/

I think I might just roll back to 2.7.1. I tried to use the other plugin suggested, Dynamic Content Gallery-but it pulls from posts, not pages and everything is organized into pages, so I don't really want to go messing with that.

We provide support only to people who provide urls, where we can take a look and see the problem..there is nothing we can do to troubleshoot questions like this.."my gallery is not working, what can I do?"
